About this product
The Mizuno JM01 120 Junior Golf Set is a 5-piece complete set for ages 6-9, including a bag. It features right-handed graphite-shafted clubs, designed for young beginners. The set is new and provides a simplified club selection to match the needs of younger players, ensuring they have the essential clubs to learn the game without overwhelming them.
Our take
When comparing the JM01 120 to the larger JM01 140, the key difference is the number of clubs: 5 versus 7. For a child aged 6-9, the 5-piece set is more appropriate, as it reduces complexity and weight, allowing them to focus on fundamentals. The graphite shafts are consistent across both sets, offering lightweight performance. However, the JM01 120 is priced at $399.99, which is only $100 less than the 140 set, making the larger set a better value if the child is close to the upper age range. Parents should consider the child's growth and how quickly they might outgrow the 5-club set. This set is ideal for the youngest golfers just starting out, but the price per club is higher than the 140, so it's a trade-off between immediate fit and long-term value.
